Does anyone still have banks that offer free coin sorters? TD phased them out a decade ago (BOA too?) and same with my local bank a couple years ago. I got by using CoinStar with 0% fee Amazon gift cards a few times but they don’t even offer that anymore.
I’m looking to do a little penny sorting but don’t want to be wrapping up the zincolns…

My local credit union still has coin sorters.
Nothing like the old TD Bank machines...

Ditto, my CU (Mid Florida) still has some sorters. I believe a couple other CU chains in central FL do as well. I think Addition Financial (a CU that changed its name) may still have some.

Bangor Savings here in Maine still has coin counters but they stopped taking half dollars it seems almost 10 years ago. They also are switching over to account connected machines, which is nice as it can directly deposit the coin final count to my checking account and I bypass going to the teller, but these new machines don't have the magnets to pull Canadian coins off of. It does have a reject chute to check for coins but I am not sure what it will eject into it other than some pennies I ran through and got rejected -ie- it keeps most everything else. I know I ran a half dollar through as a test and I heard it drop into some other compartment. It did not end up in the reject chute.

My main local bank and at least one of their branches have lobby counters that are free for account holders. They have 2 other branches that I dont frequent and am not sure if they have lobby counters. I used to bank at a local TCF bank (now Huntington) and they had just got a new lobby counter before the change to Huntington. After the change the lobby counter went away

. That was also free for account holders and was my main dump bank. Had to slow down after that because the other bank is where I pickup coin and I dont want to dump there. Last year a new bank came in to town and they have a lobby counter which is free to use even if you dont have an account there! I opened an account there and they are my new dump bank. My main bank lets me buy bags of coin right off the coin counter. Both of the other banks that I dump at (or used to dump at) would not let you buy coin from the counter. The new bank in town is Gate City Bank and I think they started out in North Dakota but are expanding into Minnesota and have quite a few locations. I am not sure if all locations have lobby counters and free coin counting for non-account holders.

Don't think Vegas has a single bank or CU with a counter but I'd like to be proven wrong.

My dump machines are free for account holders, but charge 8 percent for NON account holders. I started using the machines a few days AFTER I opened an account.
