Today I decided to use my sorter for the last time. I had a big bag of unsorted Canadian. It was fun hearing that familiar sound. What surprise me though is the 1920 through 1941 sort out. You have to run them through the machine a couple of times it's amazing that that slight composition difference makes a difference.
1920 – 1941
Composition: 95.5% copper, 3% tin, 1.5% zinc
1942 – 1977
Composition: 98% copper, 0.5% tin, 1.5% zinc
I ended up with over 50 pounds of copper cents. I shot a video of it.
