The coinstar hack was where you put in that you wanted an ecertificate, then unplug the telephone line for the modem. The machine will then give you a voucher for cash with no fee.

Well, it happen to me tonight, only I didn't unplug anything. It just couldn't connect, so it apologized to me and gave me a cash voucher with no fee...sweet!

I had that happen once. I went home to get a bunch more coin to dump for cash, and it was working again by then. I was stuck with a big gift card to Lowes. I used it, but was hoping for the cash.
