Found this in a box yesterday

Postby COINJIM » Sun Apr 10, 2011 1:36 pm

I found this one in a Brinks box yesterday. Weight is 3.1 so I know its copper. Anyone know how this error could have formed? The 'mer' from America is also missing on the reverse.

It's called a CUD. I sold one with a similar-sized cud for about ten bucks on ebay. Sold another cent with a much larger cud for 21.50.
