It its easy to maintain but hard to keep it fed. It is one hungry little machine.

Buy some dri-slide. Get the bottle with the needle.

Read the posts in the Ryedale section. This should answer most questions you have or didn't know you had.

The title of this thread is "Ordering my first Ryedale". Sounds like you have big plans, like you will be ordering multiple Ryedales.

I'm going to see where one gets me. I probably won't ever have multiple, but hey we will just have to see.

I also just got cleared by the bank to order in bulk as long as I do it in advance. I'm thinking 1k at a time.

I ordered 1k my first trip after getting my Ryedale. It was a nightmare, the wheel fell off my cart, forty boxes fell on the ground, and the teller who helped me load them the first time had to help me again. It also took me all weekend to open, do a quick wheat/ih check, and sort them. It was a grind. Now I stick with five hundred on Friday, and a couple more hundred if I NEED them during the week. It works well, I still sort about 7-8 hundred a week with a lot less stress.

Nah, it was mostly zincs.. this was the incoming unsorted stack when I got a couple of weeks behind on sorting.

I remember the ol gf at the time saw that stack and said "There must be a thousand dollars there!"

Just got my apprentice + hopper extension ordered! Very excited, but it seems there is a waiting period. Andy was very helpful, and I told him you guys sent me his way.

my ryedale will be in tomorrow, and not a moment too soon. I'm pretty backed up! That is a little over 150 pounds in the picture.

That will take about an hour or so to sort...better get more.
