Uncoated Zinc

Okay, today I found an uncoated 1983 zinc. Nice, bright shiny platinum Lincoln. Recently I've also found a blank zinc planchet. What other oddities besides the blank copper planchet do I still need to find?

Also, what value might an uncoated 1983 zinc in Au condition bring? What about the zinc planchet?
Thanks

It may have been coated with zinc powder in a science experiment.

How does one tell the difference?

I took my zinc penny to the coin dealer and he told me it was chrome plated after he looked at it through a magnifying glass

If it was shinny it was nickel or nickel/chrome plated. Un-protected zinc will tarnish pretty fast. An unplated zincoln would look dull. All the zinc plated bolts and fitting you see at the hardware store all have been chromate dipped which puts a thin layer of chromium on the surface protecting the zinc.
