comparator clips

what do they do? can you prop the comparator in the air?
hopefully if I'm asking a stupid question i get a kind answer.... :oops:

They hold the comparitor in a factory slot machine bracket

here is one in the bracket, can't really see the clips though. The brackets are nice, I have two, keeps you from having to fab one and the clips are quick release so the comparitor pops in and out quickly.
