So I'm selling off these 2011 pennies 30 rolls at a time on ebay. getting rid of about 3 like that a day.

I'm now 'the guy with the heavy boxes.' at my post office. I told the people there the boxes were full of cotton balls and marshmallows.

Anybody have any good stories about this issue? I imagine several people here are that guy.

30 rolls go in a small flat rate box. That's not heavy. Try taking 7 or 8 medium flat rate boxes that weigh 69.5 lbs apiece. That'll get you some dirty looks.

The tellers at my PO sometimes ask me what's in my heavy boxes and I tell them it is engine & transmission parts from vintage cars.

When thay ask me what is in my boxes, I usually ignore the question. I feel like a jerk, but they usually get the hint pretty quick.

I used to ship fancy lead acid batteries. 55lbs of pure lead in each one. I brought them all down to the fedex place by hand one at a time...a few hundred. They hated to see me come in.... They had to weigh each one too....this was before flat rates.

My postman presumed I was shipping silver, and kept bugging me to insure it. (Apparently one of my wealthy neighbors ships a lot of silver.) One day I made it to the post office just a few minutes after closing time, but I asked through the door if I could still pick up a package. He responded "Only if you tell me what's in those heavy damn boxes!" Hahahahaha!

I sell rocks and minerals all the time by mail. I take them some overly heavy boxes. Especially like packing the small flat rates as heavy as I can get them

I suppose I am known as "that guy" at more than on post office.. lol. I ship copper discs.. for jewelry making.

My roommate used to pick up our mail at the community mailbox. Once I got into coin collecting we stopped! I can't figure out why?
