I am doing this out of curiosity. I would like to know how many pennies do you have as of today? I have 6300 pennies that are bagged up. I am still adding to my penny boxes. I just wanted to know who has the most pennies so far.

I just started hand sorting last winter, and have a little over 10k so far. Slowly but surely...

I do have about $80 worth that I haven't sorted yet. I've been buying more than I have time to sort, because I figure percentages are only going to go down. I might as well get as many as I can and sort them as I have time. That's my philosophy.

I just weighed a box before emptying it. One full box (6" high x 8" long x 4" wide) of 2400 pennies weighs 10 pounds. If you have 400 pounds of pennies; then you will have filled up 40 of my boxes @ 2400 each. This gives you $24.00 per box x 40 boxes = $960.00 in pennies or 96000 pennies. Just think how exhausting it would be to have to move that many boxes.
