Post Your Hoarding Milestones Here

I thought it would be fun to have a thread where everyone could post their latest significant milestones they have surpassed with their hoards, and perhaps what your next goal in sight is. Things like your first 100 dollars, the quarter-ton mark, the 1000 dollar mark, the half-ton mark, the ton mark, multiple tons etc. The reason I thought about this thread was because I surpassed the $1000 face value mark today! A third of a ton is a pretty decent amount, but I've got my eyes planted firmly on the half ton mark next. Happy hunting everyone, and good luck with achieving those goals!

Nice job on the $1000 mark. I just hit $100 the other day. It's not much, but I was excited about it. 1/30 of a ton! My ultimate goal is a ton, but I doubt that will happen. You never know. Right now, I'd just like to get through all of the pennies I have but haven't sorted yet.

I remember thinking the same thing when I started- 'I'll never get to a ton!'. But now I'm 33% there, and still adding enthusiastically. I'm starting to think it's a pretty realistic goal at this point. Way to go on the $100 mark as well. It's a helluva lot more copper than most people have!

I surpassed the 1000 lb. level! A half ton is a lot of copper, but I want a full ton before I am truly satisfied with my stash. It took just over a year for me to get from $1000 face to the 1000 lb. mark ($1500 face). Next milestone is $2000 face, or two-thirds of a ton. Good luck with your searches, and hope others feel free to use this thread to post their milestones.

After a big selloff I'm at about $80 in copper. My current goal is to get to $100 by next week, although it's mainly because I need to get through the two bags I have currently in order to have gas money for next week  . Once those are sorted, that should put me at about $100. After that, my goal is 1 million pennies sorted. I'm currently at about $2,300. So assuming a 20% yield, I should be close to half a ton in copper by the time I get there. Oh! and also, I just found my first steel wheat last night, that was a milestone!

Good luck with all of your penny endeavors!

Dunno if this counts but...I put a counter on my Ryedale several months ago and last week I surpassed 250,000 "accepted" coins. I double sort so this number isn't a true count of my hoard/sales, but it is a lot of miles on a Ryedale in a short time.

Milestones? Let's see...first Ryedale (thanks, barrytrot)...Power Seller Ebay status...one millionth penny through the sorter...second Ryedale--all in less than a year. I'm liking this!

I filled a 55 gallon last summer. It is impossible to move. I bought the ryedale and have been really going at it.

I then decided to screw that and put them in ice cream buckets. I have since filled 11 ice cream buckets.

I have never sold any. Sometimes I wonder what the hell I am doing. If I get 50 gallons of copper, I want 100. Once I get to 100, I will want 200. If I get to 200 I will want 300. Do I need help?

I had a goal where I wanted to sort 50,000 pennies in one day. I accomplished this feat 2 weeks ago.

It took me 5 days to acquire the 20 boxes of pennies from multiple branches. I woke up 5am, and started cutting the rolls. I got into a groove where 2500 went into the Ryedale, while I was opening/cutting the next box. I took 3 breaks and I was finished by 10pm. I was wiped out when I was done and my fingers were black.

Note: Before you begin, make sure you lube up the ejector on the hopper of the Ryedale. It keeps everything running smoothly.

I'm just about at the 500lb mark, which was my goal by year's end.
I'll finish off the stash next year when I hit 1000 lb.
And that will be it. I live in a condo; I don't need a ton of pennies.

hit the 2 ton mark this summer and would like to try and add another ton by yrs end but dont think it will happen. I think times going to be running out shortly and have to sort while its still somewhat good. about 25% up here unless its CWR's then usually 30+

I quit sorting about a month ago, I kind of miss it. I filled a 2 quart glass container, then I filled a 4.5 gallon bucket, then I filled a gallon jug, then 5 3 quart jugs, and I also have a half gallon of 82 coppers, and probably a half gallon of wheats. I put together 4 Whitman #2 penny folders, and 2 #3's.
