Kicked the Bucket

Postby Morsecode » Fri Jul 08, 2011 5:51 pm

The cat knocked over a row of wheat stacks on the counter, and in my haste to wring his scrawny neck I knocked my chair into an empty bucket that had an open zip bag of 2265 cents on top of it...the result: coin carnage.

Pennies everywhere. Some even made it to the next room, and I'm sure I heard one or two ricocheting down the cellar stairs.

TGIF my @$$...!

Boy would I like to have been there with a beer in my hand watching that.

To bad someone didn't catch it on video.

If you would have had a mouth full you probably would have spewed it everywhere.

Cats and pennies man!

I cant sort with my kitten around...she hears the noises and just wants to steal all my pennies to play with on the floor...

Im pretty sure theres a fair bit of copper lost under my couch that she just forgets about once she loses it...

Either way...have fun searching :D

my cat sniffed the ryedale... then laid next to it

he either:
1) likes it
or
2) is guarding it

I had to laugh at both these possibilities. :D Keep up the good work.

I had a possum venture into my sorting operation the other night. I gave it the option of freedom or 10lb sledgehammer. He chose 10 lb sledgehammer route.

Thats funny. I had a large possum make his way into the workshop in my barn a while back and I tried a few things to chase him out, but he just stood his ground. Just refused to come out from under the workbench. Prodding with various instruments just got him hissing at me. I gave him a good hour with all the doors open to get out, but when I came back in, it had puked and crapped everywhere. Huge mess! My only guess is that he got into some rat poison in there. After seeing that I decided that I just had to plug him with a well placed CB Short. I have never had to clean up a nastier mess.

I had a cat once.. back in the ancient hand sorting days. I think she wanted to help me sort. Kept getting into the penny bins and dragging pennies all over the house. Then I would get blamed for there being pennies strewn across the floor in every room of the house.

A buddy was running his Ryedale in his garage. The neighbors cat saw those pennies spinning in the hopper and just had to stick his paw in. You know what they say about cats and curiousity. Didn't kill it.. but the neighbor wanted him to pay the vet bill for paw damage.

There used to be a possum in my backyard.. but he seems to have wandered off. Looked like a giant rat. My brother said the best way to deal with him would be to knock hi upside the head with a #2 face pan (flat nose shovel) and then when he plays possum.. cut his head off.

Haven't seem the coons lately.. maybe they wandered off too.
