Tellers say the darndest things

Postby kwebb70 » Tue Jul 12, 2011 7:20 am

I was at my dump bank this week and the teller actually told me she was not very good at counting!

A teller once gave me a box of dimes when I asked for a box of nickles and charged me for a box of nickels. I did not accept them. She did not speak engilsh or french

More than once I have overheard the tellers complaining how heavy a bag of halves is. This its after they have already picked up a bag or 2 of quarters. When I tell them both bags weigh the same they don't believe it. One told me the bag of halves was heavier because the coins are bigger.

Yeah, those are also the same type that don't know what a 50¢ piece is because they haven't
lived in Canada long enough to have seen one. I have also came across tellers that
didn't know what a 50¢ piece was, though they weren't quite that freshly arrived.

How did you straighten out the error? Did you have to get annother bank employees attention
so somebody could explain to her why you weren't accepting the box of coins?

yesterday:

New girl in training at my main pickup says, "wow, that sure is a lot of dimes!" with enthusiasm. I was requesting the vaults $200 in CWR.

I then asked about her pennies. She says, "how many of those do you want?"

The head teller training the gal steps up and says with a smile, "One trip or two?”
I say “just one”
Head teller, “ Give him $100. I don't want him hurting his back".

I love my head teller. New gal has now been broken in.

I asked for halves @ month ago and the teller told me it was my lucky day, there are all silver. I thought wow she doesn't know enough to keep them to herself or what. They were all clad halves, all 10 rolls.

Lol
Name me one investment where you gain at least 50% the second you purchase it and never have a chance to lose the initial investment.

That was funny, although perhaps accurate. 50% of a dollar.

Should have giver her a quarter from your pocket and asked for two more "half-quarters"!

In my area a half-quarter means something very different.

A teller told me she had one half dollar and $5.50 in pennies. I handed her six dollars. She asked me how I'd like my change back.

"Two twenties, a ten..."

I just pointed out the mistakes very slowly. It took a while but mistakes were fixed.

Makes me think I should apply for a job at a bank and really emphasize:

-I speak English, in fact I speak it really really well! ;)
-I can count and do basic arithmetic really really well!
-I have no problem hefting $100 in pennies!

Only problem is I'm too ugly to work in a bank, have the brains and the brawns but
not the looks. ;)
