Typically they require a certain number of debit card transactions or a direct deposit setup to qualify for the cash and avoid any monthly fees. Then it takes another month after you meet the requirement to see the money in your account.

does anyone have a code that was MAILED to them that they are not going to use? Chase screwed me the other day and told me that it would be automatic and now they are telling me that I had to enter the code when the opened the account. I brought in a code that I found online adn they said the online ones won't work because they have to be entered when the acct is opened. they said the ones that are mailed out have 7 days to be entered after the acct is opened.

so please, if anyone has a code they received in the mail that they are not going to use, pm it to me. thanks!

I got the Chase bonus, too. I needed to get direct deposit from work...so I saw the ad last year...$125 richer or might I say 5 boxes later. They are my supply bank...and so far I've secured 1 branch out of like 20 near me that will let me buy the BAGS! :D

For those in search of codes and such...

In my area the post office has a Chase coupon in the change of address packets. They're behind the counter, so you gotta ask. There's a coupon for $125 at Chase and 10% off at Lowes (up to $500 off I think). If your local post office doesn't have them, PM me and I'll see if I can score a few of the Chase coupons from the ones around here.

Haven't got any fees yet, either. But the only downer is that they are doing away with their "rewards" program for using their debit card this month. That was going to be more "box" money!

An update on Chase fees:

Talked to a personal banker today (when they are slow and the tellers are busy, they help out) and as of last week they changed their fees. They used to require a $500 direct deposit to waive the $12 monthly fee. Now it's just direct deposits TOTALING $500 in a month to waive the fee. Makes it a lot easier for me as I'm paid weekly and don't clear $500 per week (yet). Now Chase will remain in my pick-up/dump circuit.
