Note: I haven't sorted pennies in quite a few months, thought today would be a good time to get back into the groove.
The manager at my main bank, which also happens to be my pick up bank, told me that boxes of pennies are now $50. This is the same lady who I got my boxes from last time. I said, "Since when??" and she said, "As long as I can remember..."
HAVE YOU GONE SENILE? A few months ago you were carting me out $25 boxes.
So I said fine, let me get a box then.. and not surprisingly, they had none on hand. I decided not to order a box since I have other banks I can pick up from.
I just want affirmation that this lady is insane and boxes are still $25.00

It's possible that they have another service that does $50 boxes, but for now Guarda and Brinks both are still at $25.

She might be thinking of penny bags, which are $50.

That box would weigh 30 lbs (at least in my area where $25=15lbs). Have fun heaving that over the counter lady.

There is no rule of 50 rolls per box. Dimes come in both $250 and $500 boxes.

Sounds like you've found a primo dump bank - just make sure you deliver in boxes and deal with your special teller every time!

Yeah, that would really make it worthwhile to roll up the zincs before dumping.

We get the $50 bags from Umpqua bank in Oregon and have been told that they get them from wells Fargo . So all the coins are re rolled coins of the counters we find more IH in there rolls than others.

I have seen 50$ original bank boxes before and owned a few that were solid BU copper in the past, I however have not heard of anyone issuing them out that way any time recent.

You wouldn't happen to have one around that you could take a picture of? I have never seen a $50.00 box.

Humm come to think of it the two that I used to own were the only two I have ever seen. They were original bank boxes of 1979-D cents, each one had 100 bu original rolls in them. I'm going to take a guess and say these were not very common to come across
