OMG

Just found a box full of 1940-1960 CDN pennies... Georges VI and young queen, each roll has the number of the year on it. Circulated but in good condition. What do I do with this?

Do you think there is any good fiat value for rolls of 1942 or 1959 CDN pennies?

OMG opened the second box I ordered... same thing! 100% before 1960 CDN pennies with each year marked!

Merry Christmas to me!

I just can't understand... Someone years ago rolled all those pennies year by year marking each roll with the year of the pennies inside.... then changed them for fiat money at the bank!

I wonder what those rolls are worth right now, beside Cu value of course.

Well it looks like you hit every year of the King George VI Series. No key dates here, but they still tend to have a 3-4x their face value here on the forum.

If you have any 'young/hot' queens those are worth keeping separate as well- but the colllectablity of these coins has recently been overshadowed by their copper (they were pretty good at 2x face)

Very Nice haul. Here that would be considered as 'pulling a fast one' over the banks but to US its a treasure chest!

Thanks Robarons! Do you think I should keep them separate or can I just put them in my copper stack as CU should be worth more (well... dollar less, but I know you know) than the collectability?

Look like retail is 15 cents + on the pre 52 see https://www.jandm.com/script/getitem.asp?CID=3&PID=80
And some post 53 have some worth see https://www.jandm.com/script/getitem.asp?CID=3&PID=81

Do you have the Whitman folders for them. We have all holes filled but the 1936 Dot see-- http://www.realcent.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1639&hilit=+hole If you get the folders we can help with hole fillers. :D

Keep your Canadian coppers seperate because certain members here like to buy them like that....and they do fetch a little higher premium than the Lincoln coppers.

Just threw five boxes in there and got 115$. Feel great. I know that loose pennies take more space then when they are rolled so I guess it's pretty accurate.

Thue machine rejected a german pfnenning. I gave it to a little black boy which was maybe 2-3 years old and watching me the whole time. He was so proud; he showed the penny to his mom and he actually valued that penny. Sometimes I believe kids know more about real value than adults...
