what do I do with 24 AU 1960 large date pennies?

Postby rainsonme » Tue Oct 12, 2010 12:08 am

I got a bag of $50 loose pennies; 5,000 pennies. Avg number of copper; only a couple wheats, but it appears someone tossed an uncirculated roll of 1960 (P) large date cents into the hopper. I found 24 of them; they were easy to spot, looking like 2010's. What do I do with 24 AU 1960 large date pennies? I have a box for very high quality copper pennies, but these have no wear or tarnish, just a few scratches from their life in the loose bag. What do I do with them? And is it worth it to go back and try to get the other 26? Most of these were near the top fo the bag, meaning the last put into the machine.

I would just hold on to them, and wait for them to increase their value. I mean it's only 24 cents, so it's not like you're tying up much money.

Mr. Dakota may have the best idea. I would prefer to turn them into significant money, but absent that option, maybe putting them in the hands of 24 people who would apprecaite them in their collection is a good choice.

I think that the 60-p small date is the one that is worth the most.

Yeah - leave 'em out in the sun for a day or two and see if the date shrinks.
