Steel is worth more than copper

Postby creshka46 » Fri Nov 04, 2011 11:15 am

I just finished a great bag last night. Not only was there an unusually high amount of wheats but I also found 3 steel wheats! To date, I've been through about $2,250 pennies and have yet to find a steel one. But now 3 in one bag! It made my night :D

Now, to find my first indian.......
Pennies: $4200 - (0) indians - (5)steel - (1) George V Canadian
Nickels: $6500 - (62)war - (23)buf - (1)V nic - (4) key date jeff's
Dimes: $5000 - (24)roos - (2)merc - (2)AgCAN
Halves: $8000 - (7)'64 - (33)40% - (1)walker

I picked up a bag last week. I haven't sorted it yet, but just hand picking wheats out of it I have found 121 so far including 2 steel wheats.

That's awesome guys. Last week I got two boxes that were completely filled with brand new zincs

I was starting to feel a little discouraged. But last night I hit a jackpot! The 24 rolls I picked up from US Bank in the Safeway near my house contained so many wheat pennies, I was blown away. Then as I started sorting through the other rolls I picked up from another bank, I was thrilled to see how many dimes and coppers were in there.

Some days you lose, but other days you win big time ;)

You will hate steel cents when they change composition! :D
