My job is a touring performer. I do school shows all across the U.S. from Sept -May. I was in northern Idaho not far from the Can border a few days ago, and cleaned out 2 banks for about $200 in Can nickels. They were happy to see them go. One bank didn't even charge me for the Can/U.S. exchange- saved $7! These are my first Can nickels. It is great fun to go thru them and find the pre 1982. I haven't finished yet but am finding quite a few. When I am done I will post the % I found out of the bunch. In one roll of 40 nickels I found 36 pre 1982!
From now on whenever I am close to Can doing my shows I will make sure to check for Can nickels.
I didn't know post 1981 Can nickels are the same composition as U.S. nickels. As I also save all U.S. nickels I will also just hang on to the post 1981 Can nickels. Thanks for the info Jade! Realcent comes thru again. It is such a great forum.
