Not a big deal to anyone here, but for me, a lifetime achievement recognition find. They minted a bazillion 1964 nickels. I finally found a near mint one that probably came out a proof set. Full steps and very shiny. That is why I noticed it right away. Stood out with major glimmer. Not any scratches on it or at least negligible enough, so it goes in a coin flip after a mild soap wash and dry. Someone probably busted it out of a proof set the other month. Dump dee dump dump. No one with a numi eye would let it go by.
I wondered when I would find a good 1964 example to hold on to. Heck, I've found more AU 1938, 1939, 1940, war nickels, etc. than a good 1964 nickel. Even find VF+ plain 1950 and 1951 and mint-marked varieties every now and then. Still not finding many 2009 nickels though.
