Decent source of French/Dutch coins?

Postby marhjan » Fri Apr 29, 2011 11:16 pm

Can anyone point me in the right direction to pickup a decent sized lot of French/Dutch nickel coins? Google hasn't been much help, there is plenty of info/sales sites for Canadian nickel, which is all well and good, but I like the idea of the Dutch coins especially because of the different denomiations (from 10 cents to 2.5 gulders are all .999 nickel.) Anyway - just seeing what's out there - thanks.

I would guess that you've checked eBay. But, if you search long enough you can find some good deals there. About a month ago when I couldn't afford silver I scoured eBay for .999 nickel and got some deals on some French and Ned. Antilles coins. Takes some looking but there are deals, maybe the recent commodities plummet will thin out the bidders. Good luck!

Yeah it seems like a lot of them have already been melted down, most probably by the respective governments.
