I have one .999 nickel so far. LOL.
Besides Canadian nickels, are there other .999 Ni coins?
Is there some way to get pellets or bars without paying too much over spot and without taking delivery of hundreds of lbs at once?
Thanks.

I have just started stacking the .999 stuff, so I am firmly within the 1-25 club for now. That will hopefully change after this weekend. :D

I have been buying the easier to access US CuNi, but I will be stacking when I find Canadian at shows.

Would you think that there is sufficient demand for canadian nickels to sell them by the pound at a coin show? Have you seen it elsewhere?

Thanks,

Im not buying it from "bullion" distributors typically. It is usually the numi guys. I honestly don't see the market development at this time, I am buying it when I find a good price though.

Pure 99% nickel is only about 15-20 lbs. If I knew better about 5-6 years ago, I'd probably have 1,000 lbs. by now. Oh well....

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.

I've got 3lbs. :P

I average 10 nickels a week from the TD magnets, and out of those (on average) 7 are .999

I originally had goals of $10,000 FV for .999 Canadians and $20,000 FV for US nickels...I have dramatically slowed down for several basic reasons: my primary source of Canadians is about out of inventory, and my local bank won't sell me boxes of US because I am not a "business account holder"...I still get what I can at LCSs and shows, and get some CWRs once in a while, but it really slowed down to almost nothing new. In a way this is OK, because I still have not searched at least 1,000 lbs of my Can. .999s, I'm accumulating empty $100 bank boxes for storing the ones I will search when the time comes. Only need about 60 more empty boxes    .

For me, this is also a good savings account outside of the electronic ones and zeroes.

I would think that if you ask around you should be able to find a bank that will sell you nickel bricks if you open up an account with them.

Around here, the keyword is "business account"; I already have 3 bank accounts and 2 credit union accounts, they all make it a big deal to request $10 or more in coins, sometimes asking me for my account number, etc, or they check my ID in their terminal to verify I have an active account. The banks tell me that if I have a "business account" I can order boxes of coins, not a problem. I am thinking that there must be extra fees associated with having a business account, and they are directed to make any profit they can for the bank, also the Federal Reserve may be wising up to folks like us stacking boxes of coins, and directing the commercial banks to discourage it where possible. Anyway, I have enough nickels to last me for a while, or several whiles. In fairness to the credit unions, they have been more friendly and receptive to getting coin boxes, but it takes at least a week advance notice, and they don't order every week.
