Why hunt rabbits when they come to you

It still blows my mind that people collect coins and take the time to separate, roll and mark them all just to deposit them at the bank. A good sign today was when I was picking up my 2 boxes of pennies and nickels and the teller gave me no hassle or looks at all, even know it was 8:00am. A clear tell for great rolls that could possibly be the pick of the lot are when the paper used to roll is from a bank which no longer exists. And of course as luck would have it, three nicely rolled Canada trust old yellow rolls just sat in the box. And BOOM! 102 rabbit centennial nickels and 18 George VI , it was a good day along with 7 pounds of .999 nickel which wasn't part of the rabbit score.

Happy hunting all.

Depends on what city you are in. Small towns tend to have older change. Proximity to a local coin shop usually means slim pickings as well, a small town without a coin shop means good times.

Big cities tend to get more BU rolls though, and much more volume. Working on my 200th pound of nickel.

There's a pretty good chance that whoever rolled them didn't deposit them
