I was going through nickels tonight and found a cull 1905 V Nickel; the reverse is almost worn smooth.
The roll I found it in had 30 non-silver 1940's nickels too.
Pretty cool find although the condition was not that great.

Out of my 1st five rolls I picked up a few weeks ago I found a dateless buffalo in the 2nd roll and a 1898 V-Nickel in the 3rd roll. It's a nice readable date but the reverse is pretty slick. Probably will be a long time (or never) that I find two coins like that back to back.

I've searched 20 boxes (2k worth) of nickels and never found a V. In fact, I've only found two Buffalo Nickels sorting. One was a 1937 that would grade fine. The other was dateless. To find a V would be awesome..
Anyone ever find a Shield Nickel sorting?

I've gone through about $1500 in Nickels and found an about uncirculted V Nickel. It has a lot of that virtigre on it but the book says about 30 bucks. In all those Nickels I also picked up 3 buffs, one with a very readable date.
