I received a Whitman folder for the holidays, and have been buying boxes/rolls of nickels to find the ones that I am missing...

So what do you think the odds are that I find the final 6 nickels..

1938D, 1938S, 1939D, 1939S, 1950D, 1953S

Good chance!
50-D & 39's are tough but not bad compared to tough pennies.
Good luck!

I've heard it said: "You can't eat your gold and silver." But MRE nickels? How's the military feeding the troops with these???

I would say it is quite good. Keep searching. My nickel album of 1938 - 1964 is only lacking the 1944S nickel. All others were placed in their respective spots at face value.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:

I filled mine about 30 years ago. I am now old and grey. I happend on them the other day and thought that no one in the family does coin colecting. I have so many coins. Talked it over with my spouse and she said I should start selling them that I could enjoy somthing else more than the old coins more. Got me to thinking I have enough that if I sold them I could get me an electric start motor for my boat.

What a thought.

It can definitely be done, but how long it'll take depends on luck, how much you search and where you live. I live in the northeast and it took me about 2 1/2 years and 608,850 nickels. The last one I found was the 1943D (second to last was 1938D, found 2 or 3 1950D's in that time period).

Good luck!
