I come across american nickels from time to time that "ring" like there is silver in them. They are not the standard date war nickels either. Has anyone else ever come across this before?

Interesting. What year is the nickel? I wonder if it is similar to what Andy found with some wheat pennies that acutally contain small amounts of silver and other metals. :?:

actually, i've ran across quarters like that before. they were definitely "sandwiched", but still had that "ring" like you say. I wasn't even sorting, it was so pronounced that I heard it time I put it in with my other pocket change. yea...I thought I was going crazy too..lol
