Ahh Tim my wife cashed in some nickels while I was away, I'll be by shortly to pick them up :) Honestly though must have been a collection of some sort turned in by our resident old lady.........

Geez...............and I was really happy with the 1939 D Jeff nickel I received last Tuesday. I've never found a 1950 D. Never......and I started looking less than 10 years after those were minted. Nice haul.

I think I read somewhere that most of them ended up in Texas because that's where they went when the left the mint. I'm assuming "TXTim" means you're from Texas?

Just because someone is all decked out in TX does not necessarily mean that they are in Texas. At least in my experience.

I think that anyone in my area that is originally from Texas has it proudly on display. Custom License Plates, Texas Flag Mailboxes, Lots and lots of bumper stickers, Texas flag hanging up on the barn. There is lots of pride coming out of Texas. I am originally from Maine and I don't typically broadcast it. Can't think of too much to be proud of really.

Great finds on the Nickels! It's always great to hear these results to really get me motivated to search some more. I do 2 boxes of nickles a week and it is safe to say that I have never had a score like that. I just picked up my 2 boxes for the week at lunch time and there are lots of old and dirty looking ones looking up at me so maybe I'll have a good week too.

Don't know how nickels became a Texas issue but I am originally from western NY. It's redneck territory. Excellent people there.
Been in Texas since 1980. That makes 32 years now.
Got my nickname from my NY buddies when I go back to deer hunt every year.
I am proud to say that I am a Texan and always will be.
I love my old stomping grounds but am sorry about how things have changed with the crazy politics and taxes.
I wish there were more states as proud as Texas.
