Bought $10 face in War Nicks today, after inspecting them closer at home I noticed one that looked off. 1942 without a Mint Mark above the dome. I'm guessing its not a silver?

Either way, was a great deal. The guy owned a pizzeria and gave me 2 slices and a soda on the house! :D make up for that one Nick

Cheers,
Henchman

yep, that one is going to be nickel. Still worth a bit more I believe because in '42 production of nickel nickels was down due to the changeover to silver/mag as a result of the war effort. Might be worth a buck or so.

Yes, for the nickel nickel in 1942, they made a 1942 and 1942-D. For the silver nickel, they made one with P and S above the Monticello. I know because I just filled the last war nickel slot in my Dansco folder yesterday. :)
