What happened December 14th?

I was trying to see what date silver last really dropped. It was December 14th. A fall of approximately $2/oz. Sorry if this has already been discussed, but... WHAT HAPPENED THAT DAY?

And as a side question, do you think we will re-attain $30 tomorrow?
