Cost to submit a coin for grading

Postby lewbo » Thu Jan 05, 2012 10:02 pm

i have a 5oz America the Beautiful coin still in the mint box. I was trying to understand the cost and process to submit to PSGS. I will admit I am lost. Anybody want to enlighten me? I also would be thankful on opinions if it is a good idea to submit.
Selling US pennies 1.9 face shipped. Never mind I am keeping everything!

I'm glad you posted this lewbo. I was sitting here the other night and had the exact same ? but never took time to start a thread on here.

All I have seen is the cost of a membership + the per coin, shipping, first strike and over sized holder fees. Looks like it is going to be at least $50 a crack on the 5 oz ATB. I have some 2010 ATB 5 oz coins that I purchased already graded by pcgs and they do a very nice job with them.

My LCS has a membership and they send in coins at cost+a small fee (depends on the value of the coin). If you don't plan on having many coins graded you should check with your LCS(s) and see if they do this.
