What I find most interesting is that NY Wall Street and their best bud the LME seem to think that by raising margin requirements they can technically change the direction of a worldwide commodity. IMHO, we are witnessing economic powers toying in these markets. Who would dare to compete with hegemony that has existed for decades in these metals? Perhaps, the time has come for other sovereigns to mold markets as they alone see fit to do. Could players on the other side of this world become the new kingpins soon? I guess we'll see over the next weeks and months how this plays out.
