How to i identify these?

Postby justoneguy » Mon Nov 29, 2010 10:19 pm

I got these "rounds?" along with some 90% silver i bought from my dad, years ago.
all i can remember about them is he said it was all silver.
i don't have a gram scale but,
when i hold them in my hand, they seem to weigh about the same as $2.50 FV silver.
any ideas what i can do with them ? I'd rather keep something easily identifiable.
the dime on the bottom left is for comparison. the rounds are varying 2-2.5 times as thick

These are silver electrical contact tips. I have a few pounds of them. They are used on large high voltage electricity run equipment. I have seen them on roof bolters, miners, scoops, that sort of thing. No combustion allowed underground ;)

Good question. I'd say it differs. I tried to pawn my collection of them to Market Harmony, but mike said that the refiners don’t like to mess with them for some reason.

Tell us what you know Mike. :P
