Could I get some help here? P4 Metal.

Postby Metals Mogul » Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:13 am

I have this ring I never wear anymore and I couldn't find anything online about what it may be worth. I know it's P4 which is a blend of 4 precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, and palladium) but how much of each is in the ring? It weighs 7 grams. Could anyone here help me out with the melt value? Thanks :)

Found here ( http://collections.reeds.com/Men-s-Crea ... 70822.html )

"Platina 4 or P4 is a patented and uniquely innovative combination of 4 precious metals; silver, gold, palladium and platinum. These precious metals: .802% Silver,.062% Palladium, .0027% Gold, and .0012% Platinum"

I would say the "melt" value is low, the numbers above only add up to 86.79%, must have base metals as well.

Just because I like numbers almost as much as metals.

Code: Select all
(7 grams / 31.1034 grams) * [ ($26.91 POS * .802) + ($610.50 POPa * .062) + ($1572.91 POG * .0027) + ($1437.45 POPt * .0012) ] =
0.225 oz * ( $21.58 + $37.85 + $4.25 + $1.72 ) =

Answer with no rounding until final result: $14.71
Silver: the Rodney Dangerfield of precious metals.

If it's printed on a piece of paper it's worth the paper it's printed on.
If it's a digital asset it's worth the electrons in cyberspace.
