Found a Mercury in my vending machine

Not a topaz or mountaineer, just an average 44 Merc. Never found one in the wild before and just thought it was pretty neat. Very expensive can of soda for sure for someone!

Cool find. I am still waiting for ANY silver to be in my change.

Finding a slightly beat up Mercury in circulation was what started my interest in coin collecting.

Nice find!

I think the very first silver coin I started my collection with is a Mercury dime. Had it for many years, holding onto it for some reason I was not sure, probably thought it was collectible, but did not think much about it until recent years that there were many more of those and other denomination silver coins still to be found in circulation.

I know it's not what was meant but when I see these I keep thinking of a dime
_made out of_ mercury. Up here it occassionally gets cold enough it _would_
turn solid. ^_- Freezing point of −38.83 °C, yep we've beat that!
