First full box of Dimes

Postby RedRockGirl » Fri Dec 28, 2012 10:07 pm

I went to pick up at my CU and all they had were opened full boxes of brand new shiny 2012D pennies. They have a weird policy that they wont open the box to see if they are new, and once you open it they must all be opened and dumped to return them. They did have a box of dimes, so I picked those up instead. I'm still a noob to this whole pick up dump thing. I finished sorting the box and came away with
1964 silver
2007 British 5 pence
1974 Canadian dime
Not quite what I was wishing for, but at least I didn't get skunked. I'm working on getting a box of halves. Hopefully silver santa will still be around by then. :P

Not bad for dimes. I average about one silver per box.

RRG, don't forget to post your finds on the tracking thread.

Sounds like you've found a way to start accumulating silver. One little silver dime at a time is better than no silver at all. Find a silver dime in your next box and you've already doubled the size of your silver stack. Then it will just keep growing.
