Reads 1996 to me, and i've had 4 beers... maybe i'm wrong here.... How would corrosion happen on a coin like this? it almost looks like it has porosity

Nope. I wouldn't buy a 1996 Sliver Dollar either!
Especially in that kind of condition? Pass on that.

Wow, sold for $30 in that condition. That means one of the ones I have with a few blemishes probably could go for $40 thus. Never really understood why a bullion coin gets all this attention. Limited edition, I know, circulation count, etc.
