I guess the news of silvertowne being in shakey waters must have been true! Looks like they are being bought by A-mark!

Hadn't heard this, thanks. I read between the lines a suggestion that SilverTowne was having issues with consistent supply of reasonably priced silver, and this brings them into a vertically integrated relationship.

I also wonder if there was another generation of family waiting in the wings capable and interested in taking over the business.

From some of the rumors I have heard is that they started leveraging out and never were able to get back to whole again.

I don't know if it was because they were in trouble or generally just slow (or selling items they didn't have in inventory), but they always took their sweet time shipping me auction items from eBay.
