I wonder if a lot of the larger holders of silver that used to post are no longer active. We can all name several of those.

As in deliberate? :P

The excitement of the past years of Realcent seems to have left the building.

Silver at a 13 year high is a major event. It certainly took long enough!

I guess it's like 68 said, many members from the old days are gone; they lost interest, sold their Au/Ag/Cu a while ago, or they died (RIP).

I for one am excited. It looks like the silversqueeze that I've been anticipating since May of last year is finally starting to happen. The signs are everywhere:
  • EFP spreads starting to blow out again
  • lease rates blowing out again
  • SLV share lease rates blowing out again
  • SLV inventory being drawn down (presumably from folks redeeming borrowed SLV shares)
  • PSLV premium to NAV tightening
  • scarcity of 1,000 toz LGD bars available for retail consumption (Perth Mint hasn't sold any to the public in months)
  • COMEX swap dealer (bullion bank) short position blowing out
  • COMEX deliveries in 2025 are a large increase over 2024 - across all months - not just "delivery months"
And of course, the biggest signal is the futures and spot prices moving up strongly on a Friday.

Kitco reported on opinion by TD Securities:

"In June, when silver crossed $35 an ounce, commodity analysts at TD Securities said that $50 had become a viable target.

TDS analysts added that higher prices may be the only factor capable of meaningfully addressing the growing supply deficit.

“Our estimates of LBMA silver’s free float now stand at their lowest levels in recorded history,” they wrote in a Thursday note. “With only ~155 million ounces of silver freely available for purchase, the market structure is critically challenged. Silver’s illusion of liquidity tells us the market will only rebalance through some form of a squeeze on physical.”

LBMA free float is closer to 148M toz than 155M.
