No Safety Net???

Is there not a safety net, like in the stock market, to pause and/or stop such rapid declines as is going on right now in the metals/commodities?

Not aware of one. Percentagewise, it's not yet that big. We're still at percents per day, not per hour. What is surprising (a bit) is that it has continued down at a consistent significant pace for 4 straight days. Clearly the weak hands are being cleaned out. Good time for bargins - question is when to buy...

We'd all better hope and pray that our small town independent coin/bullion dealers will be able to survive this drastic rapid decline. They can't turn around and sell for less than they paid for the bullion and if they didn't lock in a price with a refinery then they could be in trouble.

makes you wonder IF the big banks had influence in this decline so as to stop their assets from leaving their accounts to buy bullion??? So many stories of people withdrawing large sums of money from their bank accounts to buy silver for the first time, etc. It sort of makes you go hmmmmmm!

I agree I would much rather buy silver at $20.00 than $50.00 because I plan on hanging onto it for the long haul. Probably won't ever sell it unless I am forced to. I will most likely just pass it on to my kids.

How would anyone or any gov't set up such a thing, and how would it work? By what authority would they do so? Would we have to register each purchase or sale of PM's?

No, I'm in PM's because the gov't is NOT in PM's.

You're right about that! It's just that our mice only store it for other rats. Just letting you know, though... the Fat Cats will wind up with it all in the end.

Okay, okay, I meant that they cannot control metals as much as they do stocks and bonds.
