Ebay prices rising again.

90% coins are very difficult to get @ under 30 x face. I thought bought too much over the weekend, but now I'm realizing that I didn't buy enough.

I manged to grab quite a bit of halves in the 12-12.50 range (24-25X), though it took a lot of work. Since last Thursday, I bid on over 800 lots, only to win about 65, so there are quite a few bidders out there. The best buys were in quarters which were able to be purchased for about 20-24X including decent Standing Liberty's. This lasted until about Sunday morning, when the buying really ramped up. I only won two lots yesterday. Had a few incredible buys including some Peace dollars at 25X (and one that I won in the middle of the night for 21X) and some larger half dollar lots (50 coins and up) which I got for 21-22X, but they were few and far between. I did the best with a local dealer who was hard up for some cash and sold me about $250 of junk for 20X. I know many say dimes often offer the best bang for your buck, but I just don't have the patience to deal with all of those little auctions, and frankly, I like the big coins better.

Just didn't have the funds to hit it hard over the weekend. Got a roll of nickels, but that was as far as I could go.

Silver dollars even at APMEX in quantity of 100 or more are still in the $33 range for VG-XF Morgans and Peace. Melt is below $29 per coin.

US 90% seems to be a better deal...for the time being.

Always a $4-5 premium for Morgans and Peace dollars. Even when silver was $5-6/oz , you had to spend $10 or so for a decent cull. At the height of the market a few weeks ago, there was less than a $2 premium for the coins. I highly reccomend buying the bigger coins as there are less than 400MM Morgans left in circulation (post 1980 big melt), and I assume that we may lose another 50MM in the next year. Peace dollars are a better value and a dealer once told me there are less than 100MM left in circulation (essentially one for every three Americans) and they are beautiful coins representing the height of art deco.

Been wheeling and dealing for a few here and there, got 40$ worth for 27.7, 100 nickels for 175, but yes the deals are scarce. Persistence will pay off in the long haul though.

Thanks for the info. Obviously not paying 27X face now... but still good to know.

Been looking around today for some more coins. Can't find anything less than 27X, ebay Prices are at the same level from Monday, and three of the dealers I talked to don't want to sell me anything too "cheap" when I asked what cheap was, one said 25X, the other said 27X. I'm going to wait a few days to see how things playout.

E-bay is still crazy, I sold a couple 1 oz. .999 rounds for 50 bucks yesterday. Looked about a little this morning and the prices are still really high.
