Nice Reversal

Excellent point, friend. I agree. No need to care about anything anyone says here- even to the extent that you care to say that you don't care.
To brag about credentials is to offer foder in places like these. The choice you gave at the end seems so limiting however.

Cheers!

I believe that many in the Real Cent Forum will come around and remember their humanity (the better parts of their personality and characters,) when the dire circumstances of our future forces them to rise to the occasion.

Also, there are some pockets of cooler heads with genuine concern here that acts as a sort of a cultural seed stock. This is a community that has seen some adversity from recent infighting, and has a bit of social cohesion left over from the experience. There may also be those who have made certain conscious decisions, to lead saner, more fulfilling lives (at least we can hope). We must all do what we can to avert destroying our community from the inside out, because what is at stake is nothing less than our future humanity.

Modified and butchered from Dmitry Orlov's The Five Stages of Collapse. It just seemed appropriate to do and post.

Didnt read the whole thread. But the part I did see it was clear many didnt appreciate whatever argument was going on. The part of the argument I did skim I thought Id comment on just a bit. This is NOTHING.

I used to be on several growing forums. Ive seen WAY worse then this over tomatoes! Im totally serious. Not even GM stuff and other hot button issues but even just tomatoes. Ive had people go off and try to turn ex friends against me because I like to grow my grains. you see grains are cheap and low tech its more wok per payout then other crops so you REALLY should hate me because I want to grow my own. Im an advocate of high adding carbon to the soil, whether charcoal or rotted wood, many useful benefits that last centuries to millenia. I had a whole mess of people gathering forces behind the scenes to drive me off of several forums I used to be on because they saw no value to this. It doesnt add to fertility directly so they saw no benefit. the benefits are immense actually bu that didnt matter. Id have people who still wanted in their club contacting me privately to tell me they knew I was right as if I cared what anyone else does in their garden. It was wild.

Im talking personal decisions in a garden, not something like investing which has much more emotion and relevance in most people lives, freaking tomatoes and carbon! You should have seen the internet tremors when I revealed I dont bother growing many tomatoes most years. You see all REAL gardeners grow them. I could list a dozen sites even mentioning my name is taboo over this nonsense, because I spent a lot of time looking for a place to share my hobby. There was a group who would follow me making sure no one used carbon and KNEW I didnt grow tomatoes often!!!!

The simplification is underway it would seem! I read a book called A Canticle for Leibowitz that covered 3 separate periods of history 600 years apart following a nuclear holocaust. Of course it is fiction, but in the first period it's about the monks trying to keep any historical knowledge intact off the radar because all the masses blamed science for what happened and banded together to get rid of anyone who was smart enough to be held responsible.
