Feebay Violation

Check this out. Not exactly silver-related, but I wanted y'all to know I'm trying to tweak the nose of Ebay :)

So I post an auction for a nickel graded by SEGS--not one of the major, top-tier companies, but also not just a made-up name to look neat on slabs either. Feebay slaps it down because I mention the grade in the title, and also because I use the name of the company and the word "certified" in the body of the listing. So I edit and re-post with the following disclaimer (in bright red lettering, mind you!):

"The gods of (FE)Ebay apparently do not recognize the company that graded and encapsulated this coin, even though it been in the business for years and is a reputable company. They've told me that I am not even allowed to mention the name of the company in my listing. If you'd like a more highly magnified photograph that allows you to get the name of the company and the number on the capsule, please contact me and I'd be happy to provide one."

Anyone want to make bets on whether I get slapped down again? Maybe they'll ban me completely! LOL!

Obviously Feebay is delusional. Probably ban you for using the word "gods".

You can tell em that the (FE) is meant to be the symbol for Iron.

I would just leave the grade and grading organization out of the description since people can see it in the picture clearly enough.

That's why I bothered to say it in the first place. Sort of being facetious since it's all clearly visible anyway.

Yeah I already thought of the Iron Ebay thing :) This should be fun!

Kinda pissed me off, though, since I had like six watchers after only a day of being up. Bastards!

Just wait until they start selling their lists of who sells/buys PMs to the gov't.

Hmmm, come to think of it, they probably already do.

More than likely. Fortunately I'm really just selling the random stuff off to buy more PM's (private sales with cash) to start the new baby's stack :)

Yes... and if I was a betting man, I'd bet that Apmex and other large bullion dealers do this as well.

every graded coin ive seen on ebay has the grade and company name in the title. In fact when im searching for graded stuff I put MS or PR at the end of my search becouse it weeds out the non-graded stuff.Ebay is really getting crazy Ive bought and sold on ebay starting in 2005 and its nothing like it used to be.Its really gone downhill

Thanks for getting it started, and it's still up for now!

They told me you can only mention the numerical grade in the title if it is certified by one of the companies that have the Ebay Blessing, and in the body you can mention the numerical grade, but you can only say "certified" or the company name if it is one of those companies. Kinda silly, but I got burned a long time ago before they clamped down, so I understand.

Did they say whos on the list becouse they allow PCI and SGS listings to have the grade in title and I would consider them bottom of the tier.
