OH wow FE's version

Yes what a weekend....i need to post in three sections but the silver gets it...started off with Nate's package showing up with some great looking silver bars and rounds, then the wife text's she wants to go shoot Friday night....So wheat! had a great time...bad guys beware at my house she will put a cap in your ass for sure.

picked up two bags of pennies early in the week but didnt open until late Friday night...delayed the opening due to the amount of new pennies in the bags. Looking at the bag i could see it was mostly new pennies, after cutting the bag and dropping a scoop into the counter I noticed they were not shield pennies as I was expecting. Grabbed a handful to check the dates...1961, 1962 & 1963's no sheetz. Stopped the counter, went straight to the Apprentice and sorted the zinc out...4500 zincs from two bags...the rest, mainly the early 60's pennies with a scattering of brown copper. Started sortin these in date piles last night. many of these cents are NEW looking as in not even red yet but that bright copper color. WOW. super nice. Someone opened a bunch of rolls and dumped them. My gain.

Saturday morning while dumping some halves, quarters & cents at a CU branch, the half bag filled up...Imagine that. I had only 40 dollars in halves and the bag filled after $22 dumped. When they changed the bag i notice two silvers in the bag. I wanted them....Normally these bags are full of sorted halves so I pass these CU bags up. I bought this bag and ended up with 53 40%ers with one a 69 proof. Some of these halves were so nice I changed three out of my Dansco, many of the silver's were very bright, they may have come out of rolls also..who knows.

Two great games yesterday and a de-boned deer waiting for the grinder tonight.

Not as great as getting ten solid rolls of silver but thats my version and I am sticking to it.

update...I had a little down time at a refinery today so I cleaned out my truck...found some clad halves and one 1967 half, must of fallen when I was sorting Saturday, so make that 54 silver halves....NICE nearly 8 ounces of silver for less than one oz.

Hey Slick...I found a side oiler in Louisiana a few weeks ago....now I need to come up with the cash to go a get it.

427?

I saw a machine shop that has a 496 side oiler stroker. 600+ lb/ft torque. That would get your attention with a locker :o
