My 1st silver Commemerative half in bank wrapped box

Today I was going through a box of halves and found a 1893 World's Columbian Exposition half dollar. Was a pretty cool find

Guess it is a lucky night of 1sts for me; I just found a 1960 Canadian half dollar in another box I picked up.

Hmmm, must've been the ones that got dumped into circulation when the fair ended when the creditors didn't get paid. But in the banking system for over 117 years??

I doubt it has circulated all that time.

Someone probably just turned in Aunt Gertrude's coin collection at one of the local banks.

Wish someone would dump someone's Barber collection; I'm waiting for that day :)

So cool, when I was a kid the local 5 and dime sold coins. One there that I always wanted was the Columbus commemorative half dollar. I think it is an impressive coin.

I found them selling online between $15 and $29 dollars. Depending on condition of course. But a find like that in circulation has a value that money can't really buy.
