Cleaning silver

Does rubbing junk silver coins with baking soda take away from the silver value.

The general rule is that you never clean coins as it will destroy the value.

With that being said, if the coins are for investment purposes, then it's your call. However, cleaning coins won't either increase or decrease the value from melt value.

clean it if you plan on selling it on ebay, the shinier it is the more those idiots will pay for it!
