US Mint makes it official. "2012 American Eagle San Francisco Two-Coin Silver Proof Set" posted on the mint's website's "Product Schedule" putting to rest months of speculation that they were planning to release a special Silver Eagle set to celebrate the San Francisco Mint's 75th anniversary. Word is the 2 coins will be an S Proof and an S Reverse Proof, but that is not official. No word yet on price, mintage or what the household limit will be.

Click on spec mintage is to demand. Price is to far out to announce, but some say between $129-149.

I would be interested in a set of these if they're not outrageously expensive - love the reverse proof.

Can these be ordered directly from the mint as a retail customer or do you have to buy them on the secondary market from a "dealer"? I would sure love to get a couple of sets. Any info would be welcome, thanks.

Yes, they have to be ordered directly from the mint, and they will be taking as many orders as they can get through a one month period.
