Picked up 338.00 in cwr today, one of the dime rolls was all pennies. Should I take it back and complain, or eat it? I don't want them to stop giving me cwr, but I hate to have to eat it?

I would politely let them know but there is no way to prove you got the roll this way. Seems to be happening more and more.

In the mid-late 70's my friends older brother used to painstakingly cut 100's of Cu pennies down to match the circumference of a dime. He then took the cut pennies and put them into dime rolls, put a real dime on each end and brought them to the bank. It was a lot of effort to go through, but $5 bought much more in the 70's than it does now, so I guess all the effort was worth it. He scammed banks and local retailers for over $200 bucks. He never got caught either. I think he used most of the money to buy weed. Imagine someone doing this today, you'd be put in jail for 25 years!

He was able to minimize the cutting process by heating the pennies with a blow torch to sofen them. He cut them while they were still hot. It was an ingenious set up. I was only 11-12 at the time, it's hard to remember the exact details.
Don't forget $4.50 in 1975/76 bought much more than it does now. IMO, it was probably worth the effort.
