Post Office bonus

Went to the post office today and got .35 cents back in change.

Made that classic clang noise and I noticed a 1943 Quarter. This on record the first time EVER that I have gotten silver back in change. And its a silver quarter to boot! The hard kind of silver to find roll searching.

Finally got my chance to be like you guys fishing out silver in change at seafood places and what not

It sure is nice isn't it? I forgot to post my silver-back-as-change totals from last year. Congratulations.

Couple of weeks ago when I was mailing out some silver dimes, I actually got a silver dime in my change. First time I've had that happen.

Nice find. Did you ask them if you they can break a few dollars? Just say you need change for laundry machines.

I was talking to one of my coworkers about silver, and I told him that they sound different than clad coins when you drop them. Then he told me he got change from the bank (a few months ago), but the quarters wouldn't work in parking meters. He said they were old, and sounded weird. Naturally I told him that if he found anymore to bring them to me, and I would buy them for a fair price.

Very cool! The one and only time it happened to me was in November of 2008... basically the bottom of a short term down trend. I got 2 quarters in change from a gas station outside of D.C. for a can of Monster. I can remember being put off from the silver market at the time, as I had watched it decline from $21 to $9... thinking then that the best was over. It "changed" my whole mind set. My accumulation was reinvigorated. Hopefully your find will prove to be the same.
