Income supplemented?

I'll be getting out of the service in a few months and am headed back to school. Looking to see if sorting is a viable means of income supplementation. We'd need to sell about two grand/month to live on, or about $100 face.

Is this feasible?

The New Gi bill should help you a lot with the increased payment rates for full time students.

I'm in the service right now, National Guard at the moment. If you are going to school and haven't used up your GI Bill yet I HIGHLY recommend you use that to buy, sell, trade coins. If I had to do it all over again I would have spent all of my $1,300 monthly benefit on silver back in 2007 and took out a student loan. I only have one month till I graduate and my benefit is about to run out so it sucks being me I guess. I'm guessing that since you want to generate revenue on a monthly basis you do not want to hoard. Since I am just five weeks into hoarding, I'm still not an expert on everything coin related but as a business major if you are wanting to generate a monthly income and as a legitimate business you will want to possibly network with your chamber of commerce, and perhaps throw up a website to get your name out there in your area.

No. I would not want to have my monthly bills dependent on how good of a batch of coins I get.

If you plan on CRHing and selling, I'd consider any money that brings in nothing more than extra bonus money.

I do not view coin sorting as a regular source of income in the $2000 range. I go months sometimes without finding silver of any kind.

CRH is in no way a suppliment to income. In fact the net some months is negative after figureing in dump runs for all the clad you collect. If you are in the right area you can make a little side money but to rely on this as income, no way.

In a word, NO.Wish I could say otherwise.
The volume required would be astronomical.
1 caveat: that may vary by location.

What I tell everyone going to college. STUDY FIRST, then only work for what you ABSOLUTELY need(Food,Rent). ALSO, get a degree in something that requires a license(ex. doctor, dentist, RN, CPA, Attorney etc.) You can go anywhere with this and you are worth more. You can work more after you graduate and you can sort then too. There are very few if any sorters that make their sole living sorting. Good Luck. STUDY hard. Thank you for your service.
