I know the safety of SDB's have been discussed before, but I found this interesting. I'm not familiar with the site it comes from so how solid it is does comes up. Still, it's interesting. Lends credence to things I have discussed with bankers and a couple documents I've seen produced by banks themselves.

Where do you keep your stash? With the rash of home invasion robberies, is home better?

Do you spread around in multiple banks, bury in the yard, other?

If you can't stand in front of it with an assualt rifle and defend it, then you don't really own it...That includes anything in a safe deposit box. Keep it at home, hold off on buying PM's for a month or two, or three or four and use that money to invest in a really heavy safe that is UL rated for both fire and burglary. After that buy the following in this order. 1) assault rifle and ammo 2) an alarm system 3) a really good watchdog...burying some on your property and even family property would be worthwhile in my opinion too. I haven't figured out the best way to do that yet though. Whatever you do don't keep it all in one place!!!

One more reason to keep the passport current (and at home) and invest in the 40-foot sailboat with the Ag keel.

The 35-footer I used to own has a 3 ton cast iron keel .........

The Department of Homeland Security watches one bank I use sometimes (where there are no PMs) very closely. It's about 2 blocks from the border.
