Anyone have any ideas of where to start looking for coins in Vegas? I haven't been here in a couple years... There isn't any coins anymore! Everything is tickets and chips. Half of the point of coming here this weekend was to look thru coins from the casino:-(

Back in late 2010 the Eastside Cannery Casino at 5255 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, NV‎ 89122 Phone: (702) 856-5300 or (866) 999-4899 put in a 50 all coin machines in a Classic Slots room. I'd call to make sure they still have them before you making the trek out there.

Binion’s downtown use to have a few machines that still too coins but they are well searched and I think that has dried up.

If you go downtown you need to make a trip to the Golden Nugget and check out the Gold to Go vending machine they installed in January 2011. It dispenses gold bars 1 gram, 2.5 grams etc and coins The GOLD machine located in the Gold Tower Lobby across from the world’s largest gold nugget, the Hand of Faith. ** Note it takes only cash!

They are charging a healthy markup but they have a hologram on the back with the Golden Nugget logo and are very neat.

Be aware that all the Silver Strike machines now also no longer have silver in them and there even some counterfeit one floating around. Sam’s Town has a few machines and the Four Queens still have some. But again, no silver!

If you like to gamble and feeling lucky for $2 you can try to win a lobster playing the Lobster Zone game a bar in Vegas called Mickey Finns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tz7Ozhix7E They might have them other places too at the El Cortz I think?

**FYI the company that manufacturers the game is located in Apopka, Florida, estimates that one player out of 125 will catch a lobster.

Your best "bet," pun intended, at this point might be going to banks to find change!

Lived in Vegas from 90-03, and still go back every year - the ONLY luck I have had in the last 5 years was 2 summers ago up in Mesquite playing Blackjack at a table that had halves, I pulled 2 40%ers from the stack. The dealer knew what they were and stated they rarely see any silver and that lots of players will sit 3rd base and try to look at all the coins in the tray. The 2 I spotted were together, both 1968's.

I did hit a 2000 nickle payout on a machine in either the 4 Queens or Fitzgeralds - forget which, in 2008 - and went thru them all - no wars. lol.

We went back last year after about 9 years and no coins! Won't go back. I would go somewhere else for coin. Indian Casinos or horse tracks with slots.

Some of the downtown casinos still have a few machines with coins. As of March, El Cortez, Fremont andThe D (formerly Fitzgeralds) had quarter droppers. I don't know about nickels. The Skyline casino on Boulder Highway is far off the beaten path but is about full with coin droppers. Good luck!
